Does the swimmer have to do swimmeets?
No the swimmer does not have to do swimmeets.  We will recommend to the athlete when we think they should but it is up to the parent and swimmer when they want to start.  There is a difference in the Swim Ontario fee should an swimmer want to compete.  The basic fee is $36.50 which allows a swimmer to train and learn but only allows the swimmer to try one swim meet.  If the swimmer would like to do more then the family would have to pay the difference to the competitve Swim Ontario insurance.

Where do I get swim equipment, goggles, fins, Kickboard etc?
Please go to Team Aquatic Supplies http://www.team-aquatic.com/ and they will take care of you.  T-shirts, caps, water bottles and tracksuits you can get through Grey Fairley or your level coach.

Are there any mandatory fundraising activities such as Bingo, car-washes, cookie dough, etc?
No you as a parent have no obligation to do any of those activities.  We want you to enjoy your time spent in our swimming organization.  If you feel like participating in some of our social events then by all means come.  If you would like to help organize them then that would be great too.  The Golden Horseshoe Aquatic Club is a small community and we try to create as many fun events as possible to have a great community.
